What this site is, and how it works
Straight answer: we connect Texas homeowners with licensed local foundation contractors. The inspection is free, the price is fixed and in writing, and the physical repair work is done by an independent licensed contractor in your area, not by us directly.
Why we built it
Most of Texas sits on soil that genuinely causes foundation problems, expansive clay that swells and shrinks with the seasons, and most homeowners don't find that out until a crack shows up. At that point, they're usually starting from zero: who's actually reliable, what should this cost, is this even serious.
On the other side, the contractors who do this work well are generally better at the physical repair than at marketing themselves. We built this site to sit between those two problems: give homeowners a straight, honest starting point, and connect them with a real local contractor once they're ready.
The process
You tell us what's happening
Through the symptom checker or the inspection form, wherever you are on the site.
A local contractor calls you
To arrange a free inspection with real elevation readings, not a guess over the phone.
You get a fixed price in writing
Before anything starts. No allowances, no surprises partway through.
The contractor does the work
Licensed, local, and backed by a written warranty on the repair.
What we check before we publish it
Every geology claim on this site, why a particular city's soil behaves the way it does, is checked against public sources: USDA soil surveys, USGS geological data, university and TCEQ regional geology publications, not just general assumptions about Texas clay. Every legal claim on our disclosure law guide cites the actual Texas Property Code section it's based on.
Where we cite a specific figure, like how much water a mature tree can draw from soil, or a typical repair timeline, we say where it comes from. Where something is anecdotal or reported by others rather than something we've verified ourselves, we say that too, instead of presenting it with more certainty than it deserves.
We don't publish fabricated reviews, invented statistics, or a customer testimonial we didn't actually receive. If you read something on this site and it turns out to be wrong, we'd genuinely want to know, and we'll fix it.
Where we work
We currently cover 16 Texas cities, with more added steadily as we're able to research and write about them properly rather than all at once. See the full list on the homepage.
Questions, corrections, or a repair to sort out
Call (888) 622-7133, or use the inspection request form on any page of this site. If you're reaching out about something other than an inspection, a correction, a press question, anything, just say so in the message and we'll get back to you directly.
